Family Activities in Indianapolis

Indianapolis Zoo, Aquarium and Botanical Garden
If you're ready to meet some animals up close, the Indianapolis Zoo won't let you down. Like the Children's Museum, it's consistently voted one of the nation’s best. The zoo presents animals in natural, open settings – and you can pet sharks, bathe elephants, swim with dolphins, paint with seals and even ride a roller coaster!
Children’s Museum of Indianapolis
The world’s largest children’s museum and a Top 10 Parents magazine choice features dinosaurs, a 16-foot bumblebee action figure from the set of Transformers, a planetarium, the Fireworks of Glass exhibit and CSI: Flight Adventures.
Connor Prairie Interactive History Park
This living history museum includes “1836 Prairietown,” animal encounters, 1863 Civil War Journey and the World’s Largest Helium Balloon Voyage that takes visitors 350 feet above the ground for a bird’s eye view of Indianapolis.
Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art
Founded by collector Harrison Eiteljorg, the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art contains one of the world's finest Native American and Western Art collections (according to no lesser an authority than True West magazine), and is one of only two such museums east of the Mississippi.
