David Lennhoff began appraising real estate in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area in 1973. He is currently a Principal at SCandH Appraisal Services, LLC, VA. He specializes in appraisal methodology, standards and intangibles.
David has been and remains heavily involved with Appraisal Institute education. He is approved instructor for Appraisal Institute who has taught several advanced courses nationally and internationally. He has taught at many international cities. e.g., Seoul, Beijing, Mexico City, and Tokyo. He is past chair of the national educational programs committee and curriculum committee, and current chair of publications.
David is a prolific writer and course developer/development team member. He is a frequent contributor to the quarterly Appraisal Journal and was 2004 editor in chief of the "Appraisal Journal." He edited three books for the institute: Two BEV Anthologies and Cap Theory/Tech-3rd edition.
David graduated from the University of Kentucky, Lexington with a degree in English, then served as a first lieutenant infantry platoon leader in Vietnam. He lives in Darnestown, Maryland with his wife Sandy.
