| Since 1965, Arlen C. Mills, MAI, SRA has been teaching various aspects of real estate appraisal techniques and consulting practices, including narrative residential appraisal report writing. He has been teaching various Appraisal Institute classroom courses and seminars, including real estate valuation courses, since 1970.
Arlen has developed several seminars, workshops and one classroom course concerning the valuation of small residential income properties. He has written a guidebook concerning this topic, which is now in its second edition. He is currently writing the second edition of the Valuation of Apartment Properties (with two other authors). The Appraisal Institute has published all of these materials.
Arlen Mills specializes in consulting and valuation of urban and suburban properties of all types for lending institutions, individual, government agencies and corporate investors. He has appraised real estate since 1957 and currently heads the firm The Mills Company that was founded in 1989.
