| Don M. Emerson Jr., MAI, SRA, has been involved in appraisal practice for more than 30 years and is president of Emerson Appraisal Company, Inc., in Gainesville, Florida. Emerson Appraisal Company provides commercial appraisal services in the North Central Florida geographical area. He received his BSBA and MA in real estate and urban land studies from the University of Florida. He has been involved in advanced appraisal instruction for the Appraisal Institute since 1986. Also, he is the past president of the former Gainesville-Ocala Chapter of the Appraisal Institute and has served on many Appraisal Institute education and publication committees over the years. Mr. Emerson is an adjunct lecturer at the Warrington College of Business Administration, Department of Finance, Insurance and Real Estate at the University of Florida and instructs graduate level real estate courses. He is also the author of the Appraisal Institute’s Subdivision Valuation seminar, the online version of the subdivision seminar, and is the author of Subdivision Valuation, Appraisal Institute, Chicago IL, 2008. |
