Eligibility and Requirements

The applicant must:
  • Be a minority as identified by the U.S. Census Bureau: Black, Asian or Pacific Islander, Hispanic, American Indian, Alaskan Native, or Female

  • Be an Appraisal Institute Candidate for Designation in good standing, working toward an MAI or SRA designation.

  • Have Appraisal Institute fees paid in full for the year prior to the quarterly review date. To view your dues invoice, click here.

  • Be current with Standards and Ethics courses requirement for Candidate for Designation. To view your SPP cycle, click here.
Conditions

The applications are rolling and will be reviewed on a quarterly basis with the review dates around Jan 1, April 1, July 1, and Oct. 1, or until the fund is exhausted for the year. Application Process
  1. Prior to the quarterly review date, applicant will fill out this online form, and in Step 3 upload the supplementary documents, which include:
  2. a. 500 Word Essay stating why applicant should be awarded the scholarship. This essay should highlight professional goals and experience, financial need, involvement with local AI chapter, and commitment to achieving an Appraisal Institute designation;

    b. List of Appraisal Institute courses taken to date;

    c. Resume or statement of qualifications; and

    d. Other documentation to support application.
  3. The Scholarship Review Committee will determine recipients, based on funding available and the application, and all scholarship applicants will be notified of the status of their application, via e-mail.

  4. Within two weeks of receiving an award, the recipient or the chapter must submit proof of course registration to the AIET.
