About the Author

E. Nelson Bowes, MAI, is part of a family of MAIs that includes a father, a brother, two uncles, and a wife. Mr. Bowes joined the Marines after high school, earned a BS and MS in civil engineering, and has been appraising since 1966. It has been his privilege to serve the Appraisal Institute writing, reviewing, teaching, editing, and serving on committees and boards. In addition to his MAI designation, he is also a CRE and Professional Engineer.
