About the Author
Steven Herzog, MAI, is the Northwestern Division Chief Appraiser for the US Army Corps of Engineers. He is a certified appraiser in California and Nevada and has over 25 years of professional appraisal experience. He was granted the Certified Forester designation by the Society of American Foresters and is a Registered Professional Forester in the state of California. He has previously worked as a review appraiser with the Appraisal Services Directorate of the Department of the Interior, as a commercial appraiser with Robert Ford & Associates, Inc., and as head of his own appraisal company that specialized in complex natural resource valuation assignments. He has also written a number of articles for The Appraisal Journal and has spoken at numerous seminars and workshops on water rights and timberland valuation issues.
