About the Author

R. Christian Sonne, MAI, is Executive Managing Director of the Self Storage Industry Group at Cushman & Wakefield, an international advisory team that is focused solely on the self storage sector. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, he founded and was president of The Sonne Group, Inc., a full-service real estate appraisal and consulting company. Mr. Sonne also founded Self Storage Economics (a division of The Sonne Group), which specialized in self storage data, research, market reports, feasibility, valuation, and consultation.

Mr. Sonne has a bachelor of science in political science from the University of Utah and has testified as an expert witness on valuation issues for litigation support. He has spoken at over a dozen conferences and his work has appeared in publications such as PwC Real Estate Investor Survey, The Real Estate Finance Journal, Inside Self-Storage, and Mini-Storage Messenger.
