This article reports the findings of a study on the effect of a nuclear power station on the sale prices of lots. The study examines the pricing of over 800 vacant lakefront lots on Lake Keowee in South Carolina.
The analysis confirms that distance from the nuclear station results in a statistically significant diminution in value of 3.5%. The study did not find a statistically significant relationship between price and proximity to power lines or view of the nuclear power station.
