    Examination Terms and Conditions

Examinations are provided through Pearson VUE Professional Testing Centers. Upon registration, the examinee grants permission to share information to the testing center for the purposes of identification and examination scheduling. Search for a testing center: www.pearsonvue.com/ai.

Once registered, examinee will receive a confirmation email from the Appraisal Institute. This email will include the applicant’s “Examination Identification Number” and instructions on contacting Pearson VUE to schedule the examination.

When this confirmation email, with “Examination Identification Number” is delivered, examinees will have (60) days to schedule the examination day and time, at a Pearson Vue testing center.

When scheduled (within sixty (60) days of confirmation email), they must select a date that is within one (1) year from the date of the confirmation email.

Examinees must provide a personal email address for examination scheduling.

At the time of examination, two (2) valid forms of identification are required. Both forms of identification must match perfectly – no exceptions.

If unable to attend their scheduled examination appointment, they must notify Pearson VUE Testing Center 24 hours in advance, to cancel/reschedule the seat. Failure to cancel/reschedule in less than 24 hours, will result in forfeiture of seat. This means the examinee must reregister for another examination at a future date.

If the examinee has an appointment scheduled for Monday morning, the cancellation and rescheduling choices are Friday with the call center or up until Sunday morning (24 hours before) using the web scheduling tools at www.pearsonvue.com/ai.

Pearson VUE call center hours are 7 a.m.to 7 p.m. Central Time, Monday – Friday.

    Examination fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.

Examinees will not have access to personal belongings during the examination. Laptops, cellular phones, tablets, iPads, wearable technology (smart watch, Apple Watch, Google Glass, etc.) and other devices, that may store data or connect to the internet, are not permitted in the testing area. All personal items must be stored in a locker during the examination (i.e. watches, wallets, bags, purses, phones).

Examination results will be emailed via the email on file with Appraisal Institute. Please add, education@appraisalinstitute.org to safe emails list.
