2024-2025 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course

Program Hours 
Onsite check-in will begin at 8:00am on Friday, June 14.  Instruction will run from 8:30am – 4:30pm (Pacific Time).  There is no exam associated with this offering.

Program Materials and Required Texts
In addition to the Course Handbook and USPAP Guidance and Reference Manual (provided with your registration and available for download from your Appraisal Institute MyAccount portal), all students must come to class with:

2024 USPAP Standards 1-10 which must be purchased directly from The Appraisal Foundation. The former FREE version of Standards 1-4 will not suffice.

Students may choose to purchase either a digital or print version from The Appraisal Foundation Store for $35.

• USPAP print version: USPAP Print Edition

Those relying on downloadable materials or access to USPAP, are strongly encouraged to pre-download and print these documents or perhaps view them on a secondary device during the LIVE presentation.

Tips on Downloading the Course Manual (Handbook) and USPAP Guidance and Reference Manual 

If you opted to download the program materials from your Appraisal Institute MyAccount portal for this offering, it is HIGHLY recommended that you do so in advance. The new version of this course is very interactive. If possible and to fully engage in the material search features in the Reference Manual and USPAP, registrants will benefit from accessing this information electronically.

Ordered Printed Materials or Need Assistance in Downloading? 

If you paid for printed materials to be pre-shipped, and you are not in receipt of them within 4 weeks of the offering date or have trouble downloading the handbook/materials contact AI's Education Delivery Department directly at 312-335-4207 or education@appraisalinstitute.org for immediate assistance.  Note:  Pre-printed materials must be selected at the time of online registration; additional fees apply.

Required Equipment 
None required.  However, some registrants may find a secondary device (ipad, phone, laptop or desktop computer) helpful during instruction.  Cell phones are better used only as a secondary rather than primary viewing device.  Electrical outlets in the meeting room are limited.  Registrants should bring their own extension cords and/or power strips.

Education Credit Hours and Attendance Verifications
Those who check in late, leave early or are not present during non-scheduled breaks may jeopardize receipt of credit.

Appraisal Institute: Full attendance (100%) enables Designated Members and Practicing Affiliates to receive 35 AI CEC points.  This course is just one of the programs AI professionals have to complete to meet their AI Standards requirement.  Other offerings may include Business Practices and Ethics and/or USPAP 15-Hour. 

BREA Continuing: National USPAP CEC (7-Hour) has been approved for 7-hours of California BREA CEC (#23CP764601560).  Licensed/certified appraisers seeking BREA CEC must meet the 100% attendance requirement. 

BREA Basic/Qualifying: National USPAP CEC (7-Hour) is not being submitted for BREA qualifying education (QE) credit.

Out of State Credit. If you are seeking credit for this offering from a state outside of California, check with your state licensing board(s) to make sure an out-of-state classroom offering will be accepted before registering.  It is best to speak directly with a representative from your board rather than relying on information posted to the web as some sites are out of date.  Note: Some states outside of California may have additional reporting requirements that the chapter is not able to comply with.

IMPORTANT: Registrants should be sure their appraiser license/certification numbers are entered in the AI registration portal (MyAccount) with valid expirations or a certificate will not be generated.  License numbers are listed under Profile in your AI Student Portal (MyAccount) or can be added as “Other” License.  Verified attendance certificates will be available for download from your AI MyAccount portal within 15-working days of the program.

• Logging into My Account www.appraisalinstitute.org; select the tab
• Select EDUCATION
• Click on the specific offering that you are seeking the certificate for; it will show REGISTERED
• Scroll to the very bottom of the screen to (1) COMPLETE EVALUATION FORM and (2) RETRIEVE CERTIFICATE

Note:  Effective 10/01/19 students will be able to access their attendance certificates 24/7 through the Appraisal Institute's netFORUM association management program.  The Northern California Chapter does not have direct access to certificates for programs held after this time. Any issues in retrieving certificates should be brought directly to the attention of the Appraisal Institute's Education Delivery Department at 312/335-4207 oreducation@appraisalinstitute.org.

Cancellations
Written cancellations received by Friday, May 31 are subject to a $35 cancellation fee.  Cancellations received after that time but prior to noon on Friday, June 7 are subject to a $55 cancellation fee.  No refunds for cancellations received after June 7 or for program "no shows".   Cancellations can be emailed to lisa@norcal-ai.org.

We reserve the right to substitute instructors, or to cancel or modify this program (adjust hours or location) if sufficient registrations are not received by Friday, May 31 or at any time thereafter due to other circumstances beyond our control. In the event of cancellation, tuition fees will be refunded. All other costs incurred are the registrant’s responsibility. Those requiring out-of-town travel arrangements should exercise caution in booking non-refundable tickets/reservations.
