    IT Support and Operations Specialist

    IT Support and Operations Specialist
    Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
    Job Type: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week
    Reports to: Senior Manager, IT Operations
    Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000

    Key Responsibilities:

    • User Account Management: Set up new user accounts, configure permissions, and provision company laptops and hardware. Process employee terminations, including deactivating accounts and reclaiming equipment.
    • IT Asset Management: Manage the IT asset tracker and coordinate the annual workstation refresh process.
    • Training & Support: Provide training and support for desktop applications and organization-specific systems. Identify training opportunities and develop best practices, including monthly tech tips for staff.
    • Managed Service Provider Liaison: Act as the point of contact for day-to-day IT issues and escalations with our managed service provider, ensuring timely resolution of support tickets.
    • Documentation & Process Management: Create and maintain IT operations documentation, including processes, procedures, and security records.
    • IT Supplies Management: Order and maintain IT supplies, equipment, and organization in the network room.
    • Access Permissions: Process and track access authorization requests, including SharePoint permissions, ensuring proper approvals.

    Qualifications:

    • 2+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a related field.
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 user account management (Azure AD/Entra ID preferred).
    • Experience managing SharePoint permissions and access controls.
    • Familiarity with IT asset management and hardware lifecycle processes.
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills for Windows, Office 365, and common business applications.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to document and refine IT processes.
    • Experience working with managed service providers or external IT vendors is a plus.
    • Strong communication and training skills to assist non-technical users effectively.
    • Ability to work off hours as required.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Standard office environment.

    Travel Requirements:

    • Estimated 5% travel may be required.
