Summary of Role:
As the Senior Manager of Volunteer Engagement, you will lead the management and support of various committees and entities within the Appraisal Institute. Your role is critical in recruiting and engaging volunteers and leaders, ensuring a high-quality experience for all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance Volunteer Experience: Ensure that all stakeholders—members, chapters, and regions—receive a consistent, high-quality experience in their volunteer engagement.
- Committee Appointments: Oversee the annual committee appointment process, coordinating with governance, legal, and IT staff, as well as the Appraisal Institute President-Elect.
- Leverage Technology: Deploy and manage technology to enhance the volunteer experience through multichannel engagement.
- Process Improvement: Continually evaluate and improve volunteer engagement processes, procedures, and outcomes.
- Performance Metrics: Develop and implement key performance metrics, milestones, documentation, and reporting requirements.
- Training Programs: Design and lead volunteer and committee training programs to empower committees in supporting AI’s strategic initiatives.
- Staff Support: Provide ongoing support to staff committee liaisons, including training and best practice refreshers.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to enhance services for stakeholders and volunteers.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven management and volunteer engagement experience, preferably in an association setting.
- 5+ years of experience, with an emphasis on committees and components.
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience in member relations.
- Proficiency with customer relations management (CRM) software.
- Demonstrated ability to use technology to enhance the volunteer experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Experience in documenting policies and procedures.
- Ability to lead and manage a team of direct reports.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.

- Standard office environment.
Travel Requirements:
- Limited travel may be required.
