    Course Description

    This seminar will demonstrate the importance of communication between the appraiser and the client regarding the client’s needs.  Students will be instructed on ways to make clear and concise reports, as opposed to filling them with canned data and information.

    Course Objectives

    Hour 1 |    2 p.m. – 3 p.m.

    • Illustrate the importance of proofing appraisal reports before sending them to the client or reviewer.
    • Identify the problems that mistakes cause clients or reviewers. 
    • Construct a timely response to the client for information needed before finishing the appraisal.


    Hour 2 |  3 p.m. – 4 p.m.

    • Demonstrate an appropriate Scope of Work
    • Recognize the relationship between scope of work, client needs, and solving the appraisal problem.
    • Illustrate the need for adequate and appropriate “Extraordinary Assumptions” with examples.


    Hour 3 |   4 p.m. – 5 p.m.

    • Setup the importance of communication with the client and/or reviewer as required.
    • Discuss appropriate methods of communication.
    • Identify methodology to be utilized to ensure it serves the clients’ needs and examples such as bank loans with SBA participation.

    There should be time at the end of class for a brief Q&A session.
