Ryan Petrie is an associate planner for the City of Eau Claire. The city of Eau Claire has been experiencing historic levels of growth over the past several years. This course will offer insight into development trends, new development and redevelopment projects, review of the Community Development Report & Map, and forecasting future development. The course will preview permitting activity and provide an understanding on development activity, locations, and trends for types of real estate (single-family, multifamily, commercial, industrial, public).

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Property Tour The Sonnentag
The Sonnentag is a 225,000 SF state-of-the-art facility, which offers multi-purpose event spaces, indoor sports facilities, a fitness center, and gathering spaces. The property tour will provide an in-depth look at construction techniques, building materials, interior/exterior finishes, mechanical systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), eco-friendly features, and amenities. The tour will also discuss property maintenance and day-to-day operations.
1:15 PM - 2:15 PM Property Tour The Brewing Projekt
The Brewing Projekt operates within a facility originally built as a meat processing plant in the early 1900s. The tour will provide an understanding of how the building was retrofitted to serve a modern use. The tour will also showcase the building's large open spaces necessary for brewery equipment, storage, and taproom opportunities, as well as detail the brewing process and operations necessary for brewery use.
2:30 PM - 3:30 PM Property Tour Banbury Place
Banbury Place was originally constructed as a tire factory in 1917, and is a well-known industrial landmark in Eau Claire. This property tour will detail the history of the building, its operation, and property uses. It will provide insight on the unit mix, conversation costs, tenant improvements, and tenant amenities including a child care center, restaurant, fitness center, extended stay guest suites, and conference rooms.
